ok, so a few things. first, please share your race stories here - do them as new posts.
next, are wednesdays the best day for most people to get together? would tuesdays work better? i know you're used to mondays, but i think it's better to have a little more space between the saturday (or sunday) long run and the quality workout. so, comment here about what works for you.
finally, what are your long-range aspirations? anyone want to run a half marathon or marathon? if a lot of us have the same goals, then maybe we can get there together.

my time sucked on sat. i guess i need to do something to improve my time. what do you suggest? although i did enjoy the run. wed. is good for me. tues. i do some volunteer wk in eve.
i would <3 to run a half marathon. i think first though, i need to become more disciplined in my workouts again. it band's not real happy with me right now. wed's work out really well for me. something to look forward to in the middle of the week.
i wouldn't worry too much about your time, debbie. it's not an easy course, and there's a lot that can go wrong strategically. i'm thinking the majority of people ran their first mile too fast, which within a certain range would not be horrible, but out of a certain range would kill you later. managing pace up south congress can also make or break the race. still, we are going to work on getting faster, and extending distance.
incidentally, if anyone would rather run marshes wednesday morning, mandy and i are meeting at that little parking lot on cesar chavez, between lamar and south first, across from the power plant, at 9:00 am.
if people still want to run it wednesday afternoon, too, i'll be there for that, too. i can definitely use the workout...
wednesdays are better than tuesdays for me, but my work schedule's a little odd so don't plan around me. and yes, i eventually want to do a marathon, so if anyone wants to get in on a half with me then let's go!

1/2 marathon sounds tempting.
i know that right now i am not near in the shape i should be in for what my goal is but eventually like to try a trialthon
