So... Wednesday is a day off for most of us. Is anyone up for a pub crawl/drunkfest on Tuesday starting later (9:00ish) in the evening?
I still have to withstand a hour of torture with Ron & Leilani beforehand but Paul and I can catch up with everyone if they wish to start earlier.
So, we will belatedly celebrate Jen's birthday and do a little early partying for mine. And, yes, we can call it an early evening for those that are crazy enough to want to run the next morning at 7am.
The door is wide open for suggestions on where to start/end/whatever...

did someone say drinking? And celebrating my birthday some more? When and where!!!!!!!
man y'all are hardcore. in a past life I would be all over this. in this life I need to get up and run on Wednesday.
I guess that's what's cool about Team in Exile....some people run, some people drink, and some people drink and run.
keep the faith...
can't do it - coaching a basketball game. you kids have fun, though, and happy belated and early birthdays to you both.
I'm thinking this is retaliation against those of us that rode bikes on Saturday.
yes, that's it, i foresaw you scheduling an event, and made sure a month ago that my team's Tuesday night basketball game was scheduled for... Tuesday night.
as for the biking thing, i really couldn't have cared less if you biked or not. take a look back at what i wrote, and how you both responded to it.
i wasn't going to respond, but since it seems to still be an issue...
when i suggested ways to get a better workout on the bikes, i wasn't aware i was "preaching." i thought i was coaching. see,
despite the clearly misleading disclaimer, i'm still being a coach, and i'm assuming people are coming out to work out and have fun doing it.
but, since you both have injuries, i thought that you're trying to
keep in shape and stick with the group by biking.
i really made an effort to broach the subject in a considerate way,
and i'm sorry if it came off as preachy. for what it's worth though, i thought i needed to go ahead and say it, even though i almostly completely anticipated both of your responses.
we're a running group, though with my background, i'll help people out with cycling if they want it. if you want to come out and ride bikes, rollerblade, or drink beer and watch, that's fine with me, as long as it doesn't interfere with the group's workout. you made clear with your comments that you didn't want a workout, so I let you be Saturday morning, and it didn't bother the runners at all.
so, bottom line: annoyed with the unwarranted attitude, in jest or not, but could really care less.
so I'm a lame ass because I want to run? I thought this was a running group?
maybe it's not if y'all are just here to hang out?
give a rob a break...he gave some good advice. he's a coach, always will be.
Sorry neither of you can make it out as I had been/am still planning on picking up the first round to celebrate another year.
shouldn't have to buy your own birthday drinks... make jennifer do it, hers is already past...
i'll be getting out of the game around 9:45 or so, and i don't know if some of us will be hanging out afterwards or not. last week's game drove me to drink. i'll call you guys if i get free.
I'm in for a late night of drinking...then probably an early run onthe 4th.
So, Shel & Jen, just where is this party starting?
I'll make the executive decision (just don't accuse me of being an executive) that we should start it out at Mother Egan's at 9:00. From there...?????
Rob, give us a call when you get done 'cause we will probably still be sitting at the bar with tasty beverages in hand.
i'm in durango this week. someone told me it would be 70 degrees but it's freaking 100. i'm trying to run but it's coming out more like drinking fat tire and eating bad mexican food.
happy b-days; you guys have fun!
mmmm... Beer....
100 in Durango!! lol. that sucks. it was 75 to 80 in Crested Butte and that felt pretty warm, almost hot. It's hotter there in durango than it is here in Austin!! lol.
Fat Tire = good
CO Mex food = bad
solution:
drink more fat tire than mex food.
so how was it? did y'all get your groove on and party it up?
Are you still sleeping off the drinkfest??
no replies....I guess they never got up??? must have been a good time.
Drinkfest closed down Mother Egan's at 2 but I don't think we left until around 2:45. A great time was had by all. Allie (Girl Guitar) joined us for the festivities.
I was up at about 10 this morning and have been going all day. Paul drag assed out of bed around 1pm. I'm not vouching for Jen.
Paul and I did the Northcross 8 mile loop this evening then went to have a late dinner at Z'Tejas, having the perfect table to watch the fireworks at Zilker.
Overall, a nice, fun birthday.
